Title: Senior Programme Assistant (Fixed-Term, GS-7 Level, IMIS 13314)
Duty Station: Semarang

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

To support the implementation and monitoring of UNICEF inputs and activities in line with agreed project plans of action in Central Java. Major duties include:
• Monitors, identifies and reports on trends of programme implementation in terms of CP disbursement of funds, achievement of MPO targets, etc.
• Reviews, compiles and collates monitoring reports and prepare expenditures status report against the CP budget and annual ceiling for programme review.
• Monitors distribution of materials from Jakarta to project areas and their orderly receipts and evaluates the appropriateness/performance and utilization. Carries out periodic and annual inventory of supplies in the provincial and district warehouses.
• Undertakes field visits to follow-up on programme logistics and flow of inputs to project sites; monitors the programme review and check Government/NGO account documents on the utilization of UNICEF funds and advice them as required with regard to UNICEF financial guidelines.


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in a field related to the work of the organization.
• Seven (7) years progressively responsible working experience.
• Good knowledge of accounting
• Good knowledge of English and Bahasa Indonesia for drafting reports and communication with government counterparts and international staff.

Title: Child Protection Specialist - Social Welfare/Capacity Building

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Under the direct supervision of Policy Support & Capacity Building Specialist, the incumbent will be responsible for local capacity development in child protection. S/he will contribute to the following:

1. Strengthening of the provincial and district level policy development, data management and inter-sectoral co-ordination.
2. Strengthening services for children at risk and those who are victims of abuse, violence and exploitation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advance degree in social sciences, or related technical field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation or in a related field.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Under the direct supervision of Education Specialist, the incumbent will coordinate with various actors in the area of Peace Education in Aceh, and provide technical assistance to the government counterparts in implementing the day-to-day operations based on UNICEF’s PPA.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Under the guidance of the Child Survival Specialist L4, responsible for the implementation and monitoring of assigned project(s) and activities within the Nutrition Unit/Policy & Capacity-Building Program to strengthen nutrition interventions.

The SM will provide technical support to the government of Aceh on capacity-building for managers & providers and communities for an improved response from healthcare services and strategic partnerships with other relevant sectors in ensuring carrying out of specific interventions. This will include regular updates on relevant population and project data, liaison with partners at district and province level and technical assistance in implementing assigned projects and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• University degree in public health, nutrition or other relevant field of study.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in implementing and monitoring nutrition related activities in Indonesia, which should include knowledge and experience of current structure of nutrition sector, skills in program management, multi-sectoral collaboration and facilitation capacity.
• Knowledge and experience in applying UNICEF standards and procedures would be a strong asset.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Child Survival Specialist and under the technical support from the national programme, the incumbent will be responsible for the 3 major areas: (a) Provide the capacity building to the government in Coordination, (b) M&E and Local Planning for WASH interventions; (c) Advisory to government for Evidence based programming in achieving MDG targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advance degree in WES, public health or a related discipline with appropriate technical content.
• At least 5 years of experience in programme development, capacity building in the area of WES/WASH.
• Experience with monitoring, documentation and implementation.
• Good inter personal communication skills, good writing skills.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Under the supervision of Chief Field Office (L5), the Program Communication Officer will be working with the program sections, government and private sectors as well as with media. S/he will be responsible for supporting the program sections in identifying the needs for behavioral change in the communities for improving the care of women and children. Based on KAP studies, communication strategies and communication channels will be developed. In addition, S/he will coordinate with media and organize special events, design and operationalize the campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• University degree in Communications with emphasis on participatory communication, communication planning, social mobilization, behavioral change communication.
• 2-3 years work experience in the planning and management of social development programmes, with practical experience in the adaptation and application of communication planning processes to specific programmes.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:
Under the general guidance of Chief Field Office and the Health Specialist L-3 in Jayapura, coordinate the field implementation, and monitoring of the UNICEF supported health programme. Major duties include:

Provide technical support to Government and Non-Governmental Organizations at district levels .

Strengthen networking, positioning UNICEF as an important player in the Maternal and Child Health programme, leveraging our expertise in government programmes and staying abreast of latest developments in and outside the country.

Conduct exchange of information/ ideas with other staff in the Field Office to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Malaria in pregnancy control programmes. Draw on information gathered from participating network of government, professional organizations, other UN Agencies and sector partners. Advocate strategies for the implementation of the project that is consistent with UNICEF policies, best practices, technical know-how and considerations of cost-effectiveness. Support supervisor in maintaining relationship with counterparts and partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• University degree in Health. Master’s degree in Public Health an advantage.
• 2-3 years experience in working in health sector programme.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
• The staff can be relied upon to provide up to date professional expertise to the Field Office
in his or her sector and to leverage this expertise successfully to meet the goals of UNICEF.
• Must be able to demonstrate the requisite aptitudes and experience for monitoring and evaluating health programmes.
